Painting specimens in watercolour, drawing with coloured pencils and graphite, Louise’s passion for her natural history subjects is evident.
With no formal training her pursuit for perfection has rewarded her with travel to Borneo to draw bats, publications in journals and scientific books, solo and joint exhibitions at high profile regional and private art galleries, participation as illustrator for two Earth Watch Expeditions and the position of Artist in Residence at Couran Cove Island Resort. In 2015, Louise embraced the opportunity to be Artist in Residence at the Ecoscience Precinct in collaboration with QLD scientists culminating in an exhibition during Science week.
As a founding member of the Botanical Artist’s Society of QLD and early tutor for the group, Louise helps raise the profile of botanical art in QLD and increase awareness of our beautiful unique Australian flora.
