Minjung Oh

Minjung Oh was born in South Korea and moved to Australia in 2001. She became actively involved in drawing and painting from 2007 with small art groups, and she subsequently became a member of the RQAS (Royal Queensland Art Society) on the Gold Coast in 2010. Peter’s life drawing class at RQAS enabled her to further train her skills in fine pencil drawing. Through this, Minjung became truly immersed in the fine arts.

Since 2014, she has been attending BASQ workshops run by Margaret Hastie, Anne Hayes, Kay Sullivan and Elaine Allison. In addition to this, she joined Lynda Young’s art group in St Catherine, as well as Gillian Rankin’s art group in 2014.

From 2016 she became a member of the Korea Botanical Arts Cooperative and has actively been participating in events since.
As Minjung learned more and delved into botanical art, she began to appreciate the beauty of Australian native plants and the great Australian environment. The Gold Coast Botanic Garden and Brisbane Mt Coot-tha Botanic Garden always come as great inspirations and fuel her passion for painting.
