Tanya Scharaschkin is a botanist by training and is intrigued by patterns in nature. Tanya joined the Botanical Artists’ Society of Queensland Inc in 2010. Tanya is an enthusiastic teacher keen to promote an understanding of plants through art.  She runs workshops on botany and botanical drawing for scientists, artists and the general public and is involved with different projects linking science and art. In additional to botanical art, she uses images of her artwork, plant cells and photographs of Australian flora, fauna and landscapes to create unique and unusual designs. Tanya’s artistic endeavours include photography, quilting, marbling, botanical jewellery. Her artwork is held in private collections, in Australia and overseas.
 
Tanya moved to Tasmania in mid-2018 but remains an active member of BASQ nevertheless.
